EPL WEEK 8: PREDICTIONS

Brighton (H) vs Burnley (A)

Head to Head: Burnley 2 wins Brighton 1 win 3 draws

Captain Ben Mee is most likely to return for the Clarets and also Phil Bardsley who has been out due to Covid isolation. Brighton were unlucky to lose to Spurs late last week & will be hard pressed to be beaten at home. The Clarets will be seeking their first win of a dismal season so far.

Prediction: 1-1 draw

Southampton (H) vs Newcastle (A)

Head to Head: Southampton 15 wins Newcastle 15 wins 8 draws

Southampton will be without Danny Ings for upto 6 weeks with a knee injury but the impressive Che Adams will look to add to his goals tally. Newcastle are still without first choice GK Martin Dubravka & midfield tyro Jonjo Shelvey. Expect Saints to continue their impressive run in the premier league this season so far.

Prediction: Southampton 2-1

Everton (H) vs Manchester United (A)

Head to Head: Manchester United 36 wins Everton 9 wins 11 draws

A mid week loss to Istanbul Basaksehir in the Champions League will have further decimated the Red Devil's confidence and sapped their energy reserves. The international break cannot come soon enough for the Red Devils. James Rodriguez most likely returns for Everton and Anthony Martial returns for Manchester United and should prove dangerous after scoring in the champions league encounter mid-week.

Prediction: Everton 2-1

Crystal Palace (H) vs Leeds United (A)

Head to Head: Leeds 3 wins Crystal Palace 2 wins 1 draw

Leeds face a tricky encounter with influential players Diego Llorente & Kalvin Phillips unavailable & summer acquisition Rodrigo out due to a positive Covid test. Both teams lost last week but we predict a Leeds bounce back to form and goals from Patrick Bamford.

Prediction: Leeds 3-2

Chelsea (H) vs Sheffield United (A)

Head to Head: Sheffield United 4 wins Chelsea 3 wins 1 draw

The Blades surprisingly lead the overall head to head stats but winless so far this season. Timo Werner started slowly but is showing his class in recent outings and the emergence of Hakim Ziyech in midfield along with the form of Kurt Zouma in defence will be too much to overturn for the Blades

Prediction: Chelsea 3-0

West Ham (H) vs Fulham (A)

Head to Head: West Ham 13 wins Fulham 4 wins 5 draws

Fulham had a much needed win last week. The Hammers will still be without Mikhail Antonio but have depth all over their squad and players like Aaron Cresswell, Pablo Fornals, Declan Rice & Tomas Soucek will ensure the Hammers get the 3 points on the day.

Prediction: West Ham 3-1

West Bromwich Albion (H) vs Tottenham Hotspur

Head to Head: Spurs 9 wins West Brom 4 wins 11 draws

West Brom are seeking their first win of the season but come up against the goal-scoring dynamic duo of Kane & Son. Gareth Bale scored last week and looks to be adjusting to the Premier League once again. Only question remains is who scores more goals. Kane or Son?

Prediction: Spurs 4-0

Leicester (H) vs Wolverhampton Wanderers (A)

Head to Head: Wolves 2 wins Leicester 1 win 3 draws

Wolves are going through a min form slump. Adama Traoré is not having the impact he did last season and Raul Jimenez is struggling for goals. Leicester on the other hand are at home and Jamie Vardy at 33 yrs young seems to be getting better and better.

Prediction: Leicester 3-1

Manchester City (H) vs Liverpool (A)

Head to Head: Liverpool 20 wins ManCity 10 wins 16 draws

The match of the round by far. Liverpool will miss the steely defensive prowess of Thiago who is still out injured after suffering a knee injury against Everton three weeks ago. Diogo Jota will present a selection headache for Jurgen Klopp. City at home have outscored Liverpool 11-1 in their last 3 home games against the champions.

Prediction: 2-2 draw

Arsenal (H) vs Aston Villa (A)

Head to Head: Arsenal 27 wins Aston Villa 9 wins 14 draws

Arsenal have conceded a league low 7 goals and are coming off a morale boosting first win in 14 years against Man Utd at Old Trafford. The Villains have plateaued after their mauling of Liverpool and are coming off two losses in a row. The Gunners have a little bit of that extra polish and should squeak home.

Prediction: Arsenal 2-1
