EPL WEEK 6: PREDICTIONS
Aston Villa (H) vs Leeds (A)
Head to Head: Aston Villa 8 wins Leeds 7 wins 9 draws
Battle of two teams promoted from the Championship & both impressing so far. Villa to win (just) based on their unbeaten run & playing at home
Prediction: Villa 2-1
West Ham (H) vs Manchester City (A)
Head to Head: ManCity 23 wins West Ham 9 wins 6 draws
The SkyBlues welcome back Laporte & De Bruyne. West Ham had an impressive comeback last week but no Lanzini luck against the SkyBlues this week.
Prediction: ManCity 3-0
Fulham (H) vs Crystal Palace (A)
Head to Head: Crystal Palace 3 wins Fulham 2 wins 1 draw
Fulham at home after an encouraging draw against the Blades last week & the Eagles regressing to their mid table form. We fancy a Fulham smash & grab here.
Prediction: Fulham 2-1
Manchester United (H) vs Chelsea (A)
Chelsea 18 wins ManUtd 17 wins 21 draws
Encouraging signs for Red Devils fans with a win against PSG mid week in CL. Chelsea's defence looks porous and United's recent track record against the Blues indicates a win & some pressure off OGS
Prediction: ManUtd 3-2
Liverpool (H) vs Sheffield United (A)
Head to Head: Liverpool 4 wins Sheffield United 2 wins 2 draws
A strong team effort by the Reds mid week against Ajax in CL. Will draw confidence at home and should win to put any doubts to rest after the aftermath of last week's Merseyside derby.
Prediction: Liverpool 3-1
Southampton(H) vs Everton(A)
Head to Head: Everton 18 wins Southampton 12 wins 12 draws
The Toffees are top of the table but will miss the creative influence of James Rodriguez who is likely injured for this match. Calvert-Lewin has 7 goals so far & ex Liverpool striker Danny Ings is also in rich goal-scoring vein.
Prediction: 2-2 draw
Wolverhampton Wanderers (H) vs Newcastle United (A)
Head to Head: Newcastle 2 wins Wolves 1 win 7 draws
Wolves at home and seem to be a few notches better at creating attacking runs than Newcastle. Wolves get the edge here from us.
Prediction: Wolves 2-1
Arsenal (H) vs Leicester City (A)
Head to Head: Arsenal 16 wins Leicester 4 wins 8 draws
Jamie Vardy is back for Leicester and after last week's last gasp loss to the Villains, manager Brendan Rodgers will be hoping to quickly arrest their form slide. The Gunners have been playing much better as a team under Arteta. Clash of two teams in top 5 but no real standout.
Prediction: 2-2 draw
Brighton (H) vs West Bromwich Albion (A)
Head to Head: 1 win each
Brighton have shown some real poise and flair under manager Graham Potter. Neal Maupay looks dangerous & recently signed Danny Welbeck (ex Arsenal) could play after being signed as a free agent last week.
Prediction: Brighton 1-0
Burnley (H) vs Tottenham Hotspur (A)
Head to Head: Spurs 7 wins Burnley 2 wins 3 draws
Spurs were devastating in the first 30mins last week against the Hammers before the Hammers mounted an incredible comeback. We just don't see the fight in the Clarets who are yet to win a match. Could be the beginning of the end for manager Sean Dyche?
Prediction: Spurs 4-0
Last week: 4 out of 10
Overall season: 24 out of 48
Prediction success: 50%
