Everton v Man City match is now postponed to be played at a later date.
Tottenham v Fulham is also postponed to be played at a later date.
Crystal Palace (H) vs Leicester City (A)
Head to Head: Crystal Palace 8 wins Leicester 6 wins 2 draws
After a somewhat better start to the season, the Eagles are starting to sink while the Foxes are firing up. Palace have let in 13 goals in their last 5 games ( 1W, 2D, 2L). The last time the Eagles had a clean sheet was the opening day of the season when they beat the Saints 1-0. While manager Brendan Rodgers will rotate his squad, Jamie Vardy will be front and centre for the Foxes. With 11 goals & 4 assists, the striker is just as good in away games with 19 goals in his last 19 premier league away matches. Palace have not won their final match of the year since 2011 so consider the Foxes to steal one from the Eagles nest of Selhurst Park.
Prediction: Leicester 3-0
Chelsea (H) vs Aston Villa (A)
Head to Head: Chelsea 26 wins Aston Villa 12 wins 12 draws
Once considered title frontrunners at the start of the season, the Blues have regressed with 3 losses in their last 5 games including a surprising defeat at Arsenal last weekend who themselves are mired in poor form. Despite spending in the hundreds of millions, Frank Lampard's expensive acquisitions have failed to integrate with his squad from last year who over-achieved in claiming 4th position and a CL spot. Still, the Blues supporters will draw some confidence in their team's chances at home and against the Villains who Chelsea have beat in their last 6 premier league matches and 10 of their last 11. Look for rotations from both managers but Tyrone Mings misses out for Villa with suspension and Hakim Ziyech is out with injury (hamstring) for the Blues. Prediction: Chelsea 3-2
Everton (H) vs Manchester City (A)
Head to Head: ManCity 19 wins Everton 18 wins 9 draws
Everton will still be without Richarlison who is recovering from concussion while James Rodriguez, Allan & Lucas Digne are all still building up their fitness. Sergio Aguero is fit enough to start, but Citizens manager Pep Guardiola will also be looking to rest some of his stars such as Kevin De Bruyne, Riyad Mahrez & Raheem Sterling who failed to perform in their last match against Newcastle. Both teams are unbeaten in their last 5 games and Everton will be looking for a 5th straight win, their best run in the premier league since April 2014. Prediction: 2-2 draw
Brighton (H) vs Arsenal (A)
Head to Head: Brighton 3 wins Arsenal 1 win 2 draws
Arsenal played a fantastic match at home last weekend to beat Chelsea and put a dent in the Blues title aspirations. Brighton will be aiming for 3 consecutive league wins over Arsenal for the first time. The Gunner will be looking to win back to back matches for the first time since the opening two games of this season. Mikel Arteta will be without the services of Willian, David Luiz, Thomas Partey and Gabriel and will be hoping that young squad members such as Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith Rowe & Gabriel Martinelli step up and deliver. Brighton are in 17th spot and will be missing Tariq Lamptey & Adam Lallana through injury.
Prediction: Arsenal 2-1
Burnley (H) vs Sheffield United (A)
Head to Head: Sheffield United 1 win 1 draw
Failure to win for The Blades would mean they would equal QPR's winless record run from 2012/2013 of 16 matches since the start of a season. Burnley are finally finding some fight and motivation in their performances having won 2 and drawn 2 of their last 5 matches.
Prediction: Burnley 2-1
Southampton (H) v West Ham United (A)
Head to Head: West Ham 18 wins Southampton 11 wins 7 draws
After a torrid start to the season, the Saints have been pegged back to mid table since the absence of striker Danny Ings (6 goals, 4 assists) who remains a major doubt for this game. The Hammers have won their last 5 PL games against the Saints, including the last 2 at St. Mary's. Southampton will be looking to win their last match of the calendar year for the first time since 2010.
Prediction: West Ham 1-0
West Bromwich Albion (H) vs Leeds United (A)
Head to Head: Leeds 1 win 1 draw
The Baggies rescued a precious point against Liverpool last weekend and have the fighting spirit to take the game to Leeds. The Whites will be looking to end the new year on a high after some stunning performances which sees them in 12th spot and the best placed amongst last season's promoted sides from the Championship. Patrick Bamford's 10 goals from 15 appearances are the most by a striker for a promoted side since Kevin Phillips' 13 in 15 matches for Sunderland in 1999/00.
Prediction: Leeds 3-1
Manchester United (H) vs Wolverhampton Wolves (A)
Head to Head: ManUtd 6 wins Wolves 3 wins 3 draws
Wolves are yet to lose to the Red Devils since promotion 2 seasons ago (W1 D3) and will be looking to avoid a first hat-trick of away league defeats. For Ole Gunnar Solksjaer, Bruno Fernandes has been the focal point of attack with the star Portuguese midfielder involved in 16 goal involvements (10 goals, 6 assists). The free transfer signing of Edinson Cavani could take some of that pressure of the Portuguese midfielder as the Uruguayan has so far had 5 goal involvements, all as a substitute. Only 3 players have had their first 6 goal involvements as a sub: Lomana Lua Lua, Erik Nevland & Theo Walcott.
Prediction: Man Utd: 3-2
Tottenham Hotspur (H) vs Fulham (A)
Head to Head: Spurs 15 wins Fulham 7 wins 6 draws
Spurs are unbeaten in their last 7 London derbies (W3 D4) since losing to Chelsea 2-1 in February. The Cottagers have shown some recent turnaround in form with 4 straight draws against opponents but need wins to drag themselves out of relegation trouble. Spurs have won their last 10 in 11 against Fulham in the premier league with their last defeat at home to the Cottagers coming in March 2013. Spurs will be without Giovani Lo Celso and the often injured Gareth Bale who is out for another few weeks with a calf injury.
Prediction: Spurs 3-0
Newcastle United (H) vs Liverpool (A)
Head to Head: Liverpool 29 wins Newcastle 11 wins 10 draws
Newcastle are unbeaten against reigning champions in their last 4 premier league matches at home (W2 D2). Liverpool were held to a draw last weekend against the Baggies and despite a long injury toll this season, Jurgen Klopp and his team have managed to stay atop the premiership table. Jonjo Shelvey could feature for Newcastle but dynamic midfielder Allan Saint-Maxim and defender Jamal Lascalles are both out. For the Reds Joel Matip & Naby Keita are doubtful. Striker Mo Salah has been involved in 9 goals in his last 6 matches (7 goals, 2 assists) while Newcastle will be looking to beat the Reds for the first time in 8 matches (D2 L5) having lost the last 5 in a row. The Reds will be looking for a hat-trick of wins away at Newcastle with a win in this match. Prediction: Liverpool 3-1
