Leeds United (H) vs West Ham United (A)
Head to Head: Leeds 13 wins West Ham 3 wins 4 draws
Both teams are coming off losses to Chelsea & Man Utd respectively in their last matches. Leeds have been impressive in their return to the PL but sit in 14th position and Leeds manager Marcelo Biesla must find a way to win to ensure thy don't fall into the relegation scrap heap. The Hammers have been impressive under David Moyes and a top 10 league position is well deserved for their impressive work both in defence & attack.
Prediction: 1-1 draw
Disclaimer: This pick was entered prior to this morning's match being played.
Wolverhampton Wanderers (H) vs Aston Villa (A)
Head to Head: Aston Villa 4 wins Wolves 3 wins 3 draws
Wolves will be without Raul Jimenez who is still sidelined with concussion. Nuno's team have conceded a league low 5 goals at home and the Villains will find it difficult to break through this defence at Molineux. Jack Grealish has created 26 chances so far for the Villains bested only by Bruno Fernandes (35) and Kevin De Bruyne (28) and will be Villa's chief architect in attack. Prediction: Wolves 3-1
Newcastle United (H) vs West Bromwich Albion (A)
Head to Head: Newcastle United 11 wins West Brom 5 wins 6 draws
The Geordies have been impressive this season with Callum Wilson the focal point of their attack with 7 goals/2 assists. Newcastle have also been efficient in their attack scoring 12 off 28 attempts on target, a 42.9 strike rate. Manager Steve Bruce is keeping his team selection close to his chest after last week's match was postponed due to multiple players & staff testing positive to Coronavirus. West Brom striker Conor Gallagher can become the first English player to score in 3 consecutive games for West Brom after Geoff Horsefield in 2005.
Prediction: Newcastle 3-1
Manchester United (H) vs. Manchester City (A)
Head to Head: Manchester United 23 wins Man City 15 wins 8 draws
United are coming off a miserable mid week performance against RB Leipzig losing to the Bundesliga team and out of the champions league at the group stage. A puzzling team with more away wins than at home, we really don't know which team will turn up to play Man City. The Citizens have finally found some form after consecutive victories in their last 2 PL matches against Fulham & Burnley. City have won 7 matches at Old Trafford which is the most by a visiting side with 6 of those victories coming in the last 9 seasons. Sergio Aguero will play but most likely come on as a substitute while the hero of Man Utd's last premier league game Edison Cavani will be a game time decision.
Prediction: Man City 3-1
Everton (H) vs Chelsea (A)
Head to Head: Chelsea 26 wins Everton 11 wins 19 draws
Everton have been dealt a major blow with James Rodriguez ruled out with a calf injury. Seamus Coleman & Fabian Delph are also out with hamstring injuries. Hakim Ziyech & Callum Hudson-Odoi will miss the game for Chelsea with hamstring problems while Christian Pulisic could feature for the Blues after having trained all week. The wheels have fallen off Everton's impressive start to the season and Chelsea are on a roll with 4 wins in their last 5 matches. Oliver Giroud could equal Mark Stein's 1993/94 record of scoring in 7 consecutive matches for the Blues if he scores against the Toffees.
Prediction: Chelsea 3-1
Southampton (H) vs Sheffield United (A)
Head to Head: Southampton 3 wins Sheffield United 1 win 2 draws
The Blades will desperately be trying to avoid being the first team since QPR in 2012 to go winless after 12 PL games. Southampton have a fully fit squad with Danny Ings & Nathan Redmond both pulling up well after last week's games. Ex-Liverpool striker Ings has been in sparkling form for the Saints with 6 goals and 2 assists. Look for Sheffield United's wretched start to the season to continue.
Prediction: Southampton 2-1
Crystal Palace (H) vs Tottenhamp Hotspur (A)
Head to Head: Spurs 13 wins Crystal Palace 3 wins 6 draws
Spurs are unbeaten in their last 10 PL matches against the Eagles with 8 clean sheets so this doesn't bode well for the Eagles as a London derby match up. Jose Mourinho is without Serge Aurier & Erik Lamela but otherwise has his full squad to choose from with the Son/Kane strike partnership plundering 31 goals/assists between them in just 11 matches so far this season. The record is held by Didier Drogba/Frank Lampard with 36.
Prediction: Spurs 4-1
Fulham (H) vs Liverpool (A)
Head to Head: Liverpool 18 wins Fulham 6 wins 4 draws
Liverpool were hugely impressive against Wolves last week. Mo Salah has scored 82 goals in 118 appearances since the start of the 2017/18 season but just once in his last 12 matches against a London side, against the Hammers in January. Diogo Jota will be a game time decision but Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has trained all week and may feature. An extremely difficult fixture for the Cottagers. Prediction: Liverpool 3-1
Arsenal (H) vs Burnley (A)
Head to Head: Arsenal 10 wins 2 draws
Gunners striker Pierre Emerick-Aubamayeng has scored more goals against Burnley with 7 goals in 5 matches than any other PL side. He could finally break his woeful scoring drought from open play this season against the Clarets. The Clarets will be missing Dale Stephens & Jack Cork and most likely Johann Berg Gudmundsson. With only 5 goals scored so far in the PL, Sean Dyche will have his work cut out for him even though he has beaten 27 out of 29 PL teams that his side have faced. The teams he hasn't beaten are Arsenal & Sheffield United.
Prediction: Arsenal 3-0
Leicester City (H) vs Brighton & Hove Albion (A)
Head to Head: Leicester 4 wins 2 draws
Leicester are unbeaten in all 6 of their matches against Brighton in the PL. James Maddison was rested mid-week in Leicester's match against AEK Athens in the UEFA Europa League and will hopefully recapture his rich form that he displayed at the start of the PL season. This game will be too soon for Timothy Castagne & Calgary Soyuncu while Daniel Amartey and Ricardo Pereira are both closing on a return to full fitness after long injury layoffs. Jamie Vardy has scored 41 goals for Leicester under Brendan Rodgers since March 2019, bettered only by Luis Suarez with 54 goals. Look for Vardy to add a few more to this tally over the weekend. For Brighton, Adam Lallana remains sidelined with groin issue.
Prediction: Leicester 3-2
Last Week: 7 out of 9
