Crystal Palace (H) vs Newcastle United (A)
Head to Head: Newcastle 9 wins Crystal Place 4 wins 5 draws
Early start to the Premier League this week and Crystal Palace have not won any matches in the top flight that they have played on a Friday (12). Newcastle welcome back Callum Wilson & cult fan favourite Jonjo Shelvey while Wilfried Zaha is still out with injury. Expect the Friday losses to reach unlucky 13 for Crystal Palace.
Prediction: Newcastle 1-0
Brighton (H) vs Liverpool (A)
Head to Head: Liverpool 6 wins Brighton 0 wins
Both teams are coming off impressive wins from last week. The Reds face a shorter turnaround after their midweek loss in the champions league game against Atalanta. Jordan Henderson is back in training & would be a welcome addition to a squad decimated by injuries. Leandro Trossard is back for Brighton but Liverpool will be looking to get back to their winning ways but Brighton won't go down without a fight.
Prediction: Liverpool 3-1
Manchester City (H) vs Burnley (A)
Head to Head: ManCity 8 wins Burnley 1 win 3 draws
City will welcome a lesser opposition in the Clarets who won last week finally after 8 losses to start the season. Guardiola welcomes back Fernandinho & Benjamin Mendy and will have the full squad to choose from for the first time this season. Sergio Aguero is still not match fit so Gabriel Jesus will start most likely. Expect plenty of goals at the Etihad but from the Sky Blues only in a one sided affair.
Prediction: Manchester City 3-0
Everton (H) vs Leeds (A)
Head to Head: Everton 7 wins Leeds 7 wins 10 draws
More headaches for Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti who goes into a tricky encounter with impressive Leeds without his two most experienced fullbacks, Seamus Coleman & Lucas Digne. The Frenchman is out for a 2-3 month period after sustaining an ankle injury in training that requires surgery. A huge loss for Everton as the attacking fullback provided attacking options from the wingback position. Leeds manager Biesla is missing Pablo Hernandez & Diego Llorente. Two top strikers in Dominic Calvert-Lewin & Patrick Bamford will look to score goals and secure a win for their teams.
Prediction: 2-2 draw
West Bromwich Albion (H) vs Sheffield United (A)
The 885th match in the premier league between different teams is also a match between two teams desperate to win their first 3 points of the season. West Brom were unlucky against the Red Devils last week & The Blades were dealt defeat by the Hammers. Expect a scrappy affair between the bottom dwellers.
Prediction: 1-1 draw
Southampton (H) vs Manchester United (A)
Head to Head: Manchester United 26 wins Southampton 7 wins 9 draws
Never thought I would see a day that Southampton were in a better league position (5th) than Manchester United (11th). The Saints, under Ralph Hasenhüttl, are a tough opposition and United will be missing Paul Pogba & Scott McTominay. The Saints will be without Danny Ings & Nathan Redmond.
Prediction: Southampton 2-1
Chelsea (H) vs Tottenham Hotspur (A)
Head to Head: Chelsea 30 wins Spurs 7 wins 9 draws
Match of the round for us. Two sides in wining form and former player/now manager Frank Lampard up against his old manager Jose Mourinho. Chelsea beat Spurs both times last season but Mourinho has never lost 3 games to the same team and same manager and Spurs are a different beast this season. Toby Alderweireld is sidelined but Mourinho has an otherwise strong side to choose from. This could be an absolute cracker of a game.
Prediction: Spurs 3-2
Arsenal (H) vs Wolverhampton Wanderers (A)
Arsenal 8 wins Wolves 1 win 3 draws
Wolves are seeking a first win in 10 league matches at Arsenal where they have drawn 4 and lost 5. Arsenal are without the suspended Nicholas Pepe. David Luiz & Willian will be game time decisions. For Wolves, Conor Coady returns but Romain Saiss is still out with illness.
Both teams have struggled to score goals (9 goals each), Arsenal have let in goals in each of their last 7 matches and Aubameyang continues his nightmare goal drought. Prediction: 1-1 draw
Leicester City (H) vs Fulham (A)
Head to Head: Fulham 2 wins Leicester 1 win 3 draws
Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers has won all 7 matches against Fulham as manager, a 100% record. Fulham have won their last 4 games out of 6 matches played on a Monday including their only win this season against West Brom. Thank god for Mondays. Leicester will be keen to make up for their disappointment at losing to Liverpool and Jamie Vardy will have the back of the goal on his mind as he had 2 goals and a assist last time these two sides met. Prediction: Leicester 3-1
West Ham (H) vs Aston Villa (A)
Head to Head: Aston Villa 13 wins West Ham 9 wins 20 draws
West Ham will be aiming for 3 successive wins without conceding for the first time since Feb 2014. The returning Mikhail Antonio could feature after being out with a hamstring injury for a few weeks. Villa have won all three of their away matches this campaign but will be without the services of in form Ross Barkley who is out for 2-3 weeks with a hamstring injury. Prediction: West Ham 1-0
Last week: 4 out of 10
