Everton (H) vs Newcastle United (A)
Head to Head: Everton 21 wins Newcastle 19 wins 11 draws
Everton have lost just one of their last 16 games at home in the PL to Newcastle (W10 D5). Dominic Calvert-Lewin has scored in his last 4 matches against Newcastle. The last player to score 5 times consecutively against Newcastle was Sergio Aguero between 2013 & 2016. For the Geordies, things are starting to look grim with no wins in their last nine matches and five defeats in a row which matches the longest run without a win this season.
Prediction: Everton 4-1
Crystal Palace (H) vs Wolverhampton Wanderers (A)
Head to Head: Wolves 3 wins Crystal Palace 1 win 1 draw
This one's difficult to predict as Palace have performed better than expected this season while Wolves have performed much worse. Both teams are stuck in mid-table but the continued absence of Raul Jimenez has hampered the Wolves attack. Wolverhampton have already beaten the Eagles twice this season, once in the PL & once in the FA Cup. If the win again, this would be the first time they have beaten the same team three times in one season since beating Reading three times in 2002/2003. For Palace, Wilfried Zaha has scored 9 times in 17 matches which is one less than his best return of 10 goals in the 2018/2019 season.
Prediction: 2-2 draw
Manchester City (H) vs Sheffield United (A)
Head to Head: Man City 6 wins 3 draws
Can Sheffield United beat both Manchester teams at their home ground in the one season? We're about to find out very soon. A very impressive performance mid week by the Blades which gives them a glimmer of hope of avoiding relegation but they could not have come up against more tougher opposition than Man City who are unbeaten at home against Sheffield United in all competitions (W6 D5). Ilkaly Gundogan has stepped up in place of the injured Kevin De Bruyne and could become the first German player to score in 4 consecutive PL matches.
Prediction: Man City 3-1
West Bromwich Albion (H) vs Fulham (A)
Head to Head: Fulham 8 wins West Brom 3 wins
Fulham, like Newcastle are without a win in their last 9 matches (D6 L3). For the Baggies, they have conceded 21 goals at their home ground The Hawthorns without scoring which is the longest run of goals at a stadium against a single team in the competition's history. West Brom are coming off a heavy defeat against Manchester City mid week and manager Sam Allardyce will be looking for his team to respond given he has won 6 of his last 7 matches at home against Fulham, drawing the other since a 2-0 defeat in May 2004 as Bolton manager
Prediction: 1-1 draw
Arsenal (H) vs Manchester United (A)
Head to Head: Manchester United 24 wins Arsenal 16 wins 17 draws
An intriguing match up which on paper a month ago looked a certain Manchester United win, such was the disarray in Arsenal's camp. The Gunners were down to 15th on the ladder at one stage but have now recovered on the back of 4 wins in their last 5 matches. Teenager Bukayo Saka has been a shining light for the Gunners having been involved in 7 goals this season in the PL, more than any teenager (5 goals, 2 assists). The last teenager to be involved in more goals for Arsenal in a PL campaign was Cesc Fabregas in the 2006/07 season with 13 (2 goals, 11 assists). For Manchester United, an away win will give them 18 away wins in the PL in a row, breaking their longest unbeaten streak in the PL on the road.
Prediction: Arsenal 1-0
Southampton (H) vs Aston Villa (A)
Head to Head: Southampton 15 wins Aston Villa 13 wins 9 draws
The Saints welcome back Oriol Romeu and Moussa Djenepo while Ryan Bertrand is back after a one match suspension. The Saints have won their last 4 matches against the Villains and could win 5 in a row against Aston Villa for the first time in their top flight history. Shane Long has been directly involved in 12 goals in 16 appearances against Aston Villa ( 7 goals, 5 assists). For Villa, Jack Grealish is in sublime form having already been involved in 14 goals (6 goals, 8 assists) in 18 matches, the same number he had in 36 appearances last season. The Villains will need their midfield maestro to be at his best if they are to beat the Saints for the first time since Dec 2013 in which time they have gone 8 PL matches without a win against the Saints (D3 L5)
Prediction: Southampton 3-2
Chelsea (H) vs Burnley (A)
Head to Head: Chelsea 9 wins Burnley 1 win 3 draws
New manager Thomas Tuchel was unimpressive in his first managerial start last match against Wolves in an unimpressive 0-0 draw. For the Clarets, the match against Chelsea gives Sean Dyche another opportunity to remind the Clarets ownership of his motivational prowess. With a win against Chelsea, Burnley will have beaten top half teams 3 times in a row for the first time after beating Aston Villa & Liverpool in the last 2 matches. No fitness concerns for Chelsea as N'Golo Kante is back in training but Burnley will monitor Ashley Barnes who has a slight knock.
Prediction: Burnley 1-0
Leicester City (H) vs Leeds United (A)
Head to Head: Leicester 8 wins Leeds 8 wins 1 draw
Leicester are one of the hottest teams in the PL right now with a unbeaten streak running to 7 matches (W4 D3) bettered only by Manchester City who are unbeaten in 11 matches. Leeds are a streaky side in away matches with 5 wins and 5 losses and zero draws.Their last PL match that ended level was a 1-1 draw with Manchester United in Feb 2004. For Leicester, Jamie Vardy is still recovering from a hernia operation and is a few weeks away from rejoining the squad. Leeds will be looking to in form Raphinha, who has 6 goal involvements (3 goals 3 assists), all away from home.
Prediction: Leicester 3-2
West Ham United (H) vs Liverpool (A)
Head to Head: Liverpool 30 wins West Ham 9 wins 10 draws
London Stadium is a good hunting ground for Liverpool with the Reds unbeaten in all 4 of their matches at West Ham's new home ground (W3 D1). The Hammers will be looking to win 5 PL matches in a row and 7 successive in all competitions for only the 3rd time in their history after 1985 & 2006. For the Hammers, striker Michail Antonio has scored 4 goals in 6 PL matches against the Reds, all with Jurgen Klopp in charge.
Prediction: Liverpool 3-2
Brighton & Hove Albion (H) vs Tottenham Hotspur (A)
Head to Head: Spurs 5 wins Brighton 1 win 1 draw
The Seagulls have taken 4 points from their last 2 PL matches (W1 D1) than they did in their last 8 previous matches (W0 D4 L4). For Jose Mourinho, adding salt to the wounds in the loss to Liverpool earlier in the week is the loss of star striker Harry Kane who took knocks to both ankles through the game and is in serious doubt for the match against Brighton. Spurs have scored more goals in the first 15 minutes of a PL match this season but no team has conceded fewer in this timeframe in the PL than Brighton who have conceded just the solitary goal.
Prediction: Spurs 3-1
Last Week: 4 out of 9
Overall season: 94 out of 199
Prediction Success: 47.2%
